Whitewater Rescue Technician
Recreational
(WRT-REC)

When paddling in a canoe, kayak, packraft, or on a SUP, we often travel on rivers with minimal safety equipment—making it all the more important to use it quickly, efficiently, and correctly in an emergency. River rescues can quickly become dynamic and challenging situations, where clear thinking, solid knowledge, and simple, proven strategies are crucial. This is exactly what we focus on during our hands-on training in and on the water—intentionally without river trips—emphasizing safety, technique, and decision-making. This course is ideal for individuals with little to no prior experience in rescue and safety skills.
